No Validation Needed

Lately, I’ve been wondering why we ask other people, do you like this? Is this cute? What do you think about this?

Why do we need validation from other people? There have been many times where I’ve really liked something but I didn’t wear it or didn’t buy it because I asked if someone else liked it and they said no.

I’m in a place in life where that no longer matters to me. Side note: That doesn’t mean I can do whatever I want to do because I like to do it. This means that I don’t need someone else to agree with me that something should be liked/loved or not.

If you like the shirt, shoes, bag, get it! Wear it!

I’ve been in several situations where I’ve been like “where are their friends?” because they had on something I didn’t like. Why does it matter whether I like it or not? Now, if it’s obscene, that’s a different story. But if it’s just not my style, it truly doesn’t matter.

If we all started focusing more on what we like or love and less on what we hate about other people, we would be so much further ahead in our own lives.

xoxo
